Philosophy

The furigama to the left of the cross in our logo translates into English as “Cornerstone” or “Foundation.”

In ancient times, a cornerstone was a necessity. Without the cornerstone you couldn’t build. The cornerstone was a massive block of stone, cut to be perfectly true. The builders would lay this stone first. From the perfect lines and angles of this stone the builders would line up the walls so that at the end they would be in line and true.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 28:16 that God has given us a costly cornerstone for the foundation of our lives that has been firmly placed. Ephesians 2:20 reveals to us that Jesus Christ is that cornerstone.

All of our teachings are founded upon the Holy Scriptures and lined up with the Chief Cornerstone: Jesus. In Him we find our greatest peace and protection.

“Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.”

Our main goal is to use karate as a means to discipline our bodies as tools of godliness. We strive to develop Christ-like character and discipline in our students through the teaching of the physical disciplines of the martial arts. Each small decision we make on a daily basis adds up to become our lifestyle. Does your lifestyle reflect the mind and attitudes of Christ and impact those around you for God’s eternal glory?
